The Finnish Association of Malaysia was established in 1996. Our activities are based on free willingness and good will. The association is a nonprofit organization, whose activities are financed through annual membership fees and donations. The committee is selected annually in January for a period of one year. Membership in the association is open for all Finns and anyone who is interested in Finnish culture. Even though the activities of our association are centralized in Kuala Lumpur there are members around the country.

The aim of the Finnish Association in Malaysia is to promote Finnish culture and to arrange activities around the Finnish festivals. In addition to these activities the association aims to arrange charity events and thereby assist local schools and orphanages.

The association has no premises of its own and therefore all the events and activities are arranged in the premises of its members.

Aatu, short for Aasian Tulevaisuus, is the association’s own magazine that is published approximately five times per year. The association’s announcements are mainly carried out through the the web. Our monthly activities include arranging the play groups for our youngest members, outdoor activities, pub nights, coffee mornings in the cities blooming cafes as well as Mahjong. Christmas Church is arranged in association with the Finnish Embassy.
